Perfumes are meant to enhance our daily lives and adventurous spirit.
My inspiration for creating this rollerball perfume came from reading about ancient mixes of perfume oils. What popular plants were used in the ancient world? For example, Patchouli's high value inspired early European traders to exchange Patchouli for gold. One pound of Patchouli was worth one pound of gold. It was also believed that the Pharaoh Tutankhamun, better known as "King Tut," was buried with 10 gallons of Patchouli Essential Oil inside his tomb. I aimed to have a mix of something earthy and ancestral. After months of mixing the oils but having no name, I decided to ask nature for a sign. On a hot summer's day, I sat in a field overlooking Lough Derg, deep in meditation. Very soon, a giant dragonfly came and rested gently on my shoulder; it stayed there for almost 10 mins before continuing its journey. After some research, I found images of Dragonflies were often depicted on tombs, amulets, and charms in ancient Egypt.

Base Note.
Sweet, spicy, rich, woody, earthy, and dry. It contributes to a grounded, balanced effect on emotions and helps to call in the earth element.
When inhaled, the musky-earthy aroma of pure Patchouli Essential Oil sends receptors to the brain's emotional powerhouse to process the smell as grounding and emotionally balancing—allowing the brain and body to relax with the calming down of emotions. The sedative scent stimulates the release of pleasure hormones, namely serotonin and dopamine, thereby improving negative moods and enhancing relaxation. It is believed to work as an aphrodisiac by stimulating sensual energy and boosting the libido.
Long-lasting and easy to apply. Apply to pulse points or wherever skin heats up. As the skin warms, the fragrance is released over time. Longer-lasting than alcohol perfumes and more subtle. Although the patchouli scent is strong and dark, it is a cheerful little (2.5 ft) bushy herb that blooms with light purple, pink-white flowers in the autumn.
In the early 1800s, patchouli-scented fabrics made their way to Europe, sparking great interest. Women of high society during that period wore imported shawls made of cashmere, packed with the leaves of the patchouli plant. Soon, inhaling Patchouli became a popular trend and was considered an elegant indulgence in Victorian high society. Today, the distinctive scent of Patchouli has been called "indispensable" to the fragrance industry as the basis of many perfumes.
Use sparingly as the scent is intense and long-lasting. Increase as desired.
